Jennifer Bích Châu Phan is one of the paralegals at Jameson P. Wells, P.A. She was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and her Paralegal Certificate from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and Notary Public.
Jennifer’s parents and grandfather were Vietnamese boat refugees, escaping Viet Nam in 1986. Because of their sacrifices to give her a better opportunity in life and as the first generation Vietnamese-American in her family, she has made it her goal in life to contribute and help as much as possible in her community. Being fluent in both Vietnamese and English, as well as being a knowledgeable paralegal, she has been able to help to assist attorneys handle cases in immigration, civil litigation, construction law, landlord-tenant disputes, estate planning, and estate administration.
Before college, Jennifer was involved in numerous functions and events for The Vietnamese American Association of Raleigh and was a youth leader for the Vietnamese Buddhist Organization at Van Hanh Pagoda. Through these organizations, she contributed to many relief funds, community service, and bringing the Vietnamese community together. Being involved with many families who have immigrated to the United States, like her own, and seeing the constant miscommunication and misunderstanding between the government and the Vietnamese community, she always had a passion for the law and hopes to bring a better understanding of it to everyone she meets.
Following graduation with her bachelor’s, Jennifer worked as a legal assistant for a criminal attorney, who is now the district attorney for Louisburg, NC. While working at the law firm and managing part-time at her parents’ two nail salon businesses, Jennifer was able to learn valuable skills, such as task management, verbal and written communication, time management, resourcefulness, and organization. Jennifer returned to East Carolina University for her master’s degree and ultimately moved from Raleigh to Charlotte after obtaining both her master’s degree and paralegal certificate. Once she moved to Charlotte, Jennifer worked for a law firm that practiced personal injury, civil litigation, construction law, and immigration until she made her way to Jameson P. Wells, P.A.
As part of the firm’s team, Jennifer actively works to help clients achieve the best possible outcome in their case/matter while providing guidance and status updates to clients throughout the firm’s representation.
Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend, family, and friends, trying out the newest restaurants in town, traveling, and spoiling her Maltese, Romeo.
